The Dominican team was the least occurred in races throughout the Series Caribbean with only 16
MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico - For the Dominican team, not fulfilled the primary objective: to win the Caribbean Series. However, the Toros del Este took some satisfaction in winning their final step and eliminate Puerto Rico.

With its 3-0 victory over the Criollos de Caguas, the Dominicans were tied with Puerto Ricans in the second ( 3-3), which resulted in a crown for the Yaquis, the sixth in history for Mexico and the first for the team from Ciudad Obregon.

"We came for the crown, but the Mexican team played better than everybody," admitted the second baseman for the Bulls, Esteban Germain. "We're going to play the second and nothing, we'll have to celebrate that."

Despite falling short of the goal, there were some positive aspects to the Dominican Republic.

One was the brilliant work of the Cuban pitching Raul Valdes. The lefty threw 7.2 zeros in the last game against Puerto Rico to win the victory, after shining in the opener of the tournament against Mexico. In total allowed one clean in 14.0 innings, was named to the Team All-Star Series.

In batting, the bright spot for Dominicans was the work of Ruddy Yan, who hit .556 in 18 turns to win the batting title the tournament and also integrate the Dream Team competition.

"This is my first Caribbean Series and thank God I went to the batting title," Yan said amid the celebration combined among Dominican and Mexican fans at the Estadio Isidoro "Cholo" Garcia. "(I) aggressive all the time, came to play hard and everything went well."
